Forum Polonia is an organisation advocating for the Polish diaspora in
Ireland and supporting its involvement in Irish society, and which
members are involved in various community organisations across
Ireland.
Together-Razem is a registered charity that aims to improve the living
conditions of Polish and Eastern European migrants in Ireland.
Together-Razem provides support in four main areas including advice
and information, education, mental health support and integration. The
organisation provides information, referral and linkage to necessary
supports including social welfare, employment, advocacy around
specific and emerging needs.
Education Community Development Worker will be responsible for
designing and conducting a public awareness campaign in Polish
language about HSE Covid-**Apply on the website** vaccine programme
and other health related programmes amongst the Polish community in
Ireland, in cooperation with relevant health providers, NGOs and other
appropriate stakeholders. The Officer shall improve and expand the
existing network of communication in the Polish diaspora in Ireland,
so as to engage and effectively disseminate relevant HSE?s
information.
The project has been created on a basis of existing network and
experience built by the Polish organisations : Forum Polonia,
Together-Razem and Polish Community in Waterford and to be delivered
by Education Community Development Worker in close cooperation with
Together-Razem.
EDUCATION COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER WILL
* be responsible for designing and delivery of a public awareness
campaign in Polish language on HSE?s current Covid-**Apply on the
website** vaccine programme amongst the Polish community in Ireland
mainly in Dublin, Cork and Waterford region, and, when and if
necessary, other health-related projects
* be responsible for strengthening the Polish community network and
Polish diaspora communication channels in Ireland
* Contribute to the broader activities of Forum Polonia and
Together-Razem
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
* Identifying Polish diaspora groups? educational needs related to
HSE Covid-**Apply on the website** vaccine programme
* Designing and disseminating information in Polish language about
HSE?s current Covid-**Apply on the website** vaccine programme
* Researching, developing and strengthening communication channels
with Polish diaspora in Ireland, relevant institutions, NGO?s and
other stakeholders
* Bringing together interested parties in supporting disseminating
information about HSE?s Covid-**Apply on the website** vaccine
programme
* Organising information events for stakeholders and wider public in
relation to HSE?s Covid-**Apply on the website** vaccine programme
* monitoring and responding to online communication on appropriate
communication channels when and where it might be appropriate
* preparing and producing reports for Forum Polonia board of
Directors and HSE when requested
* Evaluating models of communication strategies enabling the best
way to disseminate relevant information to the Polish diaspora in
Ireland
* Strengthening the network of Polish community leaders and other
relevant stakeholders, building multilevel relationships and alliances
* Preparing final report in a format of presentation with all
recommendation
* Identifying and securing resources, implementing initiatives for
greater sustainability for the project and other appropriate
activities
* Tasks included in working responsibility may fall outside of the
main scope of this job description
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Demonstrable experience working in a Community Development capacity
or relevant third-level qualification in Community Development or
closely related discipline.
* Experience in coordinating public awareness campaigns, project
management
* Very good organisational and administrative skills
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills in
Polish language with a specific focus on the ability to tailor complex
information into a language that is socio-culturally appropriate and
easy to understand for the recipients
* Ability to self-manage and work on own initiative and be an
excellent team player.
* Good interpersonal skills, relationship building
* Has a demonstrable commitment to the principles of Community
Development, social justice and equality, mobilising leaders and
capacity building.
* Good oral and written English language skills
* Polish language is essential
DESIRABLE:
* Direct experience of working with the Polish diaspora community in
Ireland
* First-hand knowledge of the issues facing Polish diaspora in
Ireland
* Ability to speak other Eastern-European languages, especially
Ukrainian or Russian
* Experience in developing and strengthening coalition or network
mobilising and capacity-building
* Good knowledge of Polish diaspora stakeholders and Polish media
and social media landscapes in Ireland
* Good knowledge of terms, themes and issues related to
Covid-**Apply on the website** and general safety of vaccines and any
risks involved with the same
* driving licence
